GUIDE Program, Inc.

ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST PART TIME (posted on 11/5/2009)
Consultant Psychiatrist to provide services for GUIDE’s Therapeutic Group Home for six Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) adolescent males located in Fort Washington. This position requires 4-6 hours per month, including participation in monthly clinical team meetings at the group home site. Other services may be performed at the psychiatrist’s private office or group practice in a setting geographically convenient to the group home. A psychiatrist with privileges at a psychiatric hospital in Prince George’s County where group home youth may be admitted for emergency evaluation or acute care is preferred.

• Medication management
• Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of all new residents
• Participation in monthly clinical team meetings at the group home to include treatment planning and clinical consultation
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies 24/7
• Participation is screening, assessment, admission and discharge processes
• Formulating and documenting diagnoses
• Clinical supervision of cases which require face-to-face medical review
• Consultation with group home staff regarding maintenance of the therapeutic milieu
